The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has condemned the racial abuse suffered by Ghanaian winger Christopher Antwi-Adjei during Schalke 04’s German Cup match against FC Lokomotive Leipzig.
In a statement, the GFA described the incident as “evil” and reiterated that racism has no place in football or society.
“Christopher showed incredible strength in the face of hate, reminding us all that dignity and character will always rise above ignorance,” the Association said.
The GFA pledged its firm support for Antwi-Adjei, calling for respect and equality across the game. “Football is about unity. Football is about love. Football is for all of us,” the statement continued.
The incident has drawn widespread criticism in Germany and beyond, with calls for stronger measures to eliminate racism from the sport.
For Ghana, the message was clear: Antwi-Adjei is not alone, and the fight for a football culture built on respect and equality continues.
