The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has renewed its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the game by deepening collaboration with the Ghana Police Service ahead of the 2025/26 football season.
GFA President Kurt E.S. Okraku paid a courtesy call on COP Lydia Yaa Donkor, Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), to reaffirm the partnership between the two institutions.
The move, Okraku said, is part of efforts to strengthen monitoring and enforcement mechanisms to clamp down on match manipulation, illegal betting, and hooliganism, issues that continue to threaten the credibility of football in Ghana.
COP Lydia Yaa Donkor welcomed the renewed commitment, assuring the GFA of the Service’s readiness to work closely with football authorities. She emphasized the importance of proactive intelligence sharing and strict enforcement of the law to deter misconduct in the game.
With the new season set to kick off, the strengthened collaboration aims to restore confidence among fans, players, and officials while creating a safer environment both on and off the pitch.
