The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) says gas supply to fuel stations across the country has been restored after three days of cut in supply.
The Authority explained that the resultant acute shortage that hit some parts of the country was as a result of maintenance works undertaken on some sections of new gas pipelines in Takoradi, Western Region.
“It is a necessary schedule we had to undertake,” said Yaro Kasambata of the Authority, “and so that affected the output of LPG onto the domestic market.”
Mr Kasambata made this known on TV3’s News360 on Tuesday, October 7.
‘Remedial arrangements’
He assured that the situation has since been remedied.
“We have put in remedial arrangements which have started yielding results,” he said.
According to NPA’s Public Relations Officer, 43,000 metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas has been pumped into the system.
“This we are very sure will improve the situation dramatically.”
