Garu Tempane District elects Presiding Member

Mr Daniel Syme, Deputy Upper East Regional Minister, at the weekend called on Presiding Members to operate an open door administration.

This, he said, would allow members of the assembly to willingly contribute in the decision making process and development agenda.

Mr Syme made the call at the second session of the Garu-Tempane District Assembly to elect a new presiding member.

He urged Mr Edward Dahamani Alaal who was re-elected, to use his office as a tool to turn around the fortunes of the assembly.

He polled 28 votes representing 65.1 per cent out of the 43 votes cast.

Mr Albert Akoka, the District Chief Executive asked the assembly members to ahead in forge unity to foster rapid development.
