Gambila donates books to Nabdam communities

Zanlerigu (U/E), Jan. 27, GNA – The Director of the National Service Scheme, Mr. Boniface Gambila, on Monday presented a quantity of exercise books valued at about 4 million cedis to be supplied to junior secondary schools and the Kongo Senior Secondary School in the Nabdam constituency of the Upper East Region.

The exercise books are to be distributed to junior secondary school pupils in Kongo, Sakoti, Nangodi, Pelungu and Zanlerigu to boost education in the area and also to reduce the burden on parents.0 The Director, who had declared his intention to contest the parliamentary seat in the constituency further presented a set of football jersey to the Zalerigu Community Football Club that made a request to hi sometime ago.

Presenting the items, Mr. Gambila called on the pupils in the area to take their education seriously and urged the youth to exhibit a sense of respect towards the elderly.

The Chief of Zanlerigu, Naba Kosom Napeesalima, commended Mr. Gambila for the gesture.

Mr. Gambila contested the parliamentary seat in the 2000 election and lost to the incumbent, Mr. Moses Asaga, a former Deputy Minister in the National Democratic Congress regime.
