Goaso (B /A), Dec 9, GNA – Two illegal miners (Galamsey operators) were trapped to death in a pit at Sikaa Aminaso near Kenyase in Asutifi District of the Brong Ahafo Region. Deputy Superintendent of Police Richard Appiah, District Police Commander confirmed the story to GNA, at the weekend. He said the deceased, believed to be citizens of Konongo in Ashanti, were prospecting for gold when the pit caved in and killed them. The bodies of the deceased, who are yet to be identified, were retrieved by a combined team of rescuers and deposited at St Elizabeth Hospital at Hwidiem while Police investigations continued. 9 Dec 09
