GAEC Pushes For Nuclear Plant

The Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC) is seeking parliamentary approval for the establishment of a nuclear plant needed to generate additional power supply for the country.

The Commission has, therefore, submitted a nuclear power policy to the Ministry of Environment and Science for onward submission to Parliament for scrutiny.

Prof. Edward H.K. Akaho, Director-General of the Commission, disclosed this in an interview in Accra at the opening of a French course for 30 scientists and technicians of the Biotechnology and Nuclear Agriculture Research Institute (BNARI).
