Accra, July 14, GNA – Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Tawiah III, on Monday appealed to professional bodies to help mould talents of the youth in Accra for them to acquired the requisite skills in their chosen professions. The Ga Mantse who emphasised the need for the youth to pursue education seriously, said that was the surest way to fight poverty. Nii Tackie Tawiah made the call when a six-member delegation from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) called on him to pay homage and align itself with the vision of the Ga State in its bid to focus on education and manpower development. The Ga Mantse recently visited Greenwich University and the London School of Business and Finance in the United Kingdom in pursuit of his vision to sponsor eligible youth to institutions of higher learning in Ghana and abroad. He told the delegation of the need to provide instructional teaching aid to the youth to guide them in choosing their professions. Mrs Gifty Ofori, Country Manager, ACCA Ghana Office, who led the team, said the association shared the vision of the Ga Mantse. She pledged support to the youth who would want to pursue careers in Accountancy and other areas of study. According to her, there were a lot of opportunities coming up in Ghana and the world as a whole that were increasing the demand for accountants and appealed to Ghanaian youth to rise to the challenge. She said ACCA intended to join with Institute of Charted Accountants, Ghana, and other relevant professional bodies in that direction.
