Ga District Assembly disburses 500 million cedis to traders

Amasaman (G/A), March 18, GNA- About 200 people including traders, fishermen, farmers, and societies in the Ga District have so far benefited from the current disbursement of 500 million cedis revolving credit scheme of the Ga District Assembly’s Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF).

Mr. Patrick Nortey Yebuah, Presiding Member of the Ga District Assembly disclosed this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Thursday.

He said a Credit Approval Committee together with Project Officers of the Ga Rural Bank conducted interviews with the people before the loans were distributed.

Mr. Yebuah regretted that over one billion cedis loans granted by the District Assembly during the previous government were yet to be collected by the Assembly.

The Presiding Member stated that the current beneficiaries were taken through counselling before the loans were granted to them to ensure regular and prompt repayment for others also to benefit.
