Fulani Menace: Ashanti REGSEC assures Agogo residents

The Ashanti Regional Security Council says residents of Agogo need not worry over where Fulanis and their cattle that have been evacuated from the town are heading.

Residents had complained about the area provided for the herdsmen and their cattle to relocate saying they are still within disputed areas.

REGSEC of the Ashanti region complied with a high court order to evacuate the Fulani herdsmen and their cattle from seven villages in the Agogo area where they had operated over the years.

About 10,000 cattle were moved to the boundary between the Ashanti and Eastern regions, while others went to the fringes of the disputed villages.

Spokesperson of the Regional Minister, Francis Dodovi told XYZ News, the residents of Agogo will not be bothered by the activities of these herdsmen.
