‘Fried rice’ vendor commits suicide over debt

A young man believed to be in his early thirties Friday committed suicide at Onwe in the Ashanti region.

Speaking to Atinka FM, an eyewitness, Master Clinton Afriyie, mentioned that the deceased only known as Peter was a ‘fried rice’ vendor in the vicinity.

Clinton added that prior to his death, the fried rice vendor was being harassed by a woman he owed an undisclosed sum of money.

He revealed that, the woman came to peter’s house to demand her money but unfortunately, the deceased had no money to pay his debt.

Clinton mentioned that the deceased looked worried after the embarrassing encounter with his debtor and immediately entered his room and never came out.

Neighbours got curious when the deceased was not coming out of his room so they forcibly opened his door only to find his lifeless body hanging.
