“Minister insults journalists…You know nothing, go, back to school”, is the banner headline on the front page of the Free Press. The accompanying story says as a result of her contemptuous behaviour towards the media, the Minister of Education, Dr. Christina Amoako-Nuama, was shunned by the Parliamentary Press Corps when she appeared before the House last week. The Minister had been invited by the Speaker, Mr. Justice D.F.Annan to answer questions concerning her ministry. According to the Free Press, for some unknown reasons, the minister had earlier described the Parliamentary Press Corps as journalists who know nothing. “You don’t know anything. You are always chasing statements from MPs and ministers”, the paper reported her as saying. GRI
