Frank Davies dismisses “baseless” misconduct petition against Godfred Dame

The lawyer for former Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, Frank Davies, has dismissed the “baseless” petition against his client for alleged misconduct during the Ato Forson ambulance trial.

The petition was filed by Richard Jakpa, the Director of Special Operations at the National Security Secretariat, who also played a key role in the controversial ambulance procurement case.

Speaking to the media following Godfred Dame’s appearance at the CID Headquarters to assist with investigations into the matter, Mr Davies said: “A matter which has received judicial pronouncement. This Jakpa thing, is this the first time you are hearing it? No. This complaint has been made already. It has received a judicial pronouncement, so what? is it not obvious to you? Is it not obvious what the implications are? So I need no say.”

Former Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame, on Monday, October 6, reported to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.

This follows an official invitation linked to a petition filed against him by Richard Jakpa, a Director of Special Operations at the National Security Secretariat.

Mr Jakpa has petitioned the CID, calling for an investigation into allegations that Mr Dame fabricated evidence during his tenure as Attorney-General in the high-profile ambulance procurement case, which involved Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, now the Minister for Finance, and himself as Third accused.
