Kpando-Agbenoxoe (Volta Region), 7 Oct.,

The MP for North Dayi, Commodore Steve Obimpeh (rtd) and the Kpando District Chief Executive, Miss Akua Dansua, yesterday jointly commissioned four self-help projects worth 18 million cedis at Kpando-Agbenoxoe. The projects which were initiated in 1990 and financed through biennial fund- raising harvests are, a three-classroomed junior secondary school (JSS) block, four new boreholes fitted with pumps and the rehabilitation of two old boreholes and a KVIP. The Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) assisted the people with materials for the water and the KVIP projects. Togbe Opeku v, (chief of Agbenoxoe) speaking at the fourth biennial harvest at Kpando-Agbenoxoe last Saturday announced plans by the people to build a 150 million-cedi six-classroomed block to replace the old mud structure built in the 1930’s. Miss Dansua said the assembly has set aside 60 million cedis being part of its share of the common fund as loans to organise agricultural groups to promote agriculture and offer jobs to youth in the area.
