Four public institutions awarded at 2012 Public Service Day

Four public service institutions were awarded for their contributions towards national development in Accra at the weekend at the 2012 Public Service Day Press Soiree and Awards night.

They were Ghana Health Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana Standards Boards Authority and Adentan Municipal Assembly.

It formed part of activities marking the Public Service Day on the theme: “Innovation in Citizens’ Engagement for Effective Governance.”

The poorly patronised ceremony experienced an anti-climax when the representatives of the four public award-winning institutions were promised that they would receive their award which spans laptop computers and accessories at a later date.

The UN Public Service Day intends to highlight the values and virtues of public service to the society, as well as their contributions towards the development process.**
