Bolgatanga, April 25, GNA – Four of the six accident victims of the Fountain Gate Chapel including two daughters of Reverend Eastwood Anaba, the Head Pastor of the Church, were on Saturday buried in Bolgatanga. The funeral service was officiated by various Ministers of God from Ghana and Nigeria. Tributes were read by members of the families and friends of the deceased.
The six died in a motor accident near Nasia on the Tamale-Bolgatanga road while on their way to Bolgatanga to take part in this year’s Easter convention of the Church dubbed: “International Extra Oil Conference”.
Reverend Anaba read tributes to his two daughters enumerating their virtues and liveliness.
Narrating what the families went through the accident, he said: “Agony and pain found their way into our souls but God was to follow up with great comfort. He alone is all wise and holy.” He said the family had accepted the loss as it was the will of God. “We are not discouraged, we are getting ready and getting the world ready for the second coming of Jesus”, he added. Mr Alban Bagbin, Majority Leader of Parliament in the company of Mr Cletus Avoka Minister of Interior, Mr Mark Woyongo, Upper East Regional Minister extended condolences to the bereaved families on behalf of the President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills.
Mr Bagbin said they joined the entire congregation to share their sorrow and grief as well as celebrate the victory of life over death. He urged the families to see the loss as a blessing. Mr Bagbin presented to the bereaved families, four bags of rice, five crates of soft drinks and GH¢1,000. The Church used the occasion to launch the CAAAAB Foundation a charitable organization in honour of the six departed members of the Church.
CAAAAB, an acronym of first names of the deceased members, was launched to replace an existing Foundation called “Help Foundation”. The names of the deceased were: Clara, Alex, Amanda, Audrey, Alberta and Benjamin. The foundation is to assist needy and destitute children with their educational and other needs. It would also help single mothers to engage in income generating activities.
