Foundation for Female Photographers gets new board chair

Accra, March 13, GNA – Ms Mariam Millah, a Public and Customer Relations Specialist, has been elected the new board chair of the Foundation for Female Photojournalists (FFP) in Accra. FFP, the only women’s media and art organization in Ghana, is committed to development through communicating development information to women, girls and deprived communities using photographs, painting and films. Ms Millah, also an accountant, has over ten years experience in financial management and accounting.

A statement signed by Ms Mardey Ohui Ofoe, Executive Director of FFP on Saturday and copied to the Ghana News Agency said Ms Millah is a member of the Institute of Public Relations and Association of Chartered Certified Accountant. It said she is committed to contributing her skills in finance accounting, public relations and customer care towards the overall goals of FFP organizational development. Ms Millah thanked colleague board members for entrusting the leadership of the organization to her, adding that she would work hard to ensure FFP empower the vulnerable with information through its development cinema and production of visuals.

Mr Joe Kpenge, Head of Human Resource and Organizational Development of Actionaid International underscored the role of the board and emphasized the need to uphold organizational integrity and accountability to its constituents.

Other members of the board are Ms Vera Doku, a communications specialist, Dr Michael Whyte Kpessa, a Public Policy Analyst (Canada), and Ms Gladys Adinyira Wuaku a sculptor. The rest are Mr Abel Sumo Gayvolor, an international photographer, and Ms Mardey Ohui Ofoe, a photojournalist and Executive Director of the FFP. The board would serve for a five-year term.
