Former student donates to University College of Education

Winneba, July 19, GNA – Professor T.A. Ocansey, a former student of the University College of Education, Winneba (UCEW), on Friday donated teaching equipment and materials worth more than 10 million cedis to the Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sports Department of the college.

The items include a computer, physical education books, hockey sticks, volleyballs, basketballs and footballs.

Prof. Ocansey, who is also a co-ordinator of Sunney Brockport University in the United States and UCEW Thinkage, is currently in the country to see to the development and expansion of the graduate programme, which is extended to other departments of the college and some selected personnel of the Ghana Education Service.

Prof. Ocansey said the items were meant to enhance the master’s programme of the department and expressed the hope that this objective would be achieved.

Dr H.A.K.A. Pufaa, head of the department, thanked Prof. Ocansey for his concern for his alma mater and assured him that the equipment would be put to good use.
