Former Headmistress of Apam Secondary school honoured

Agona Swedru (C/R) April 3, GNA – The management of the Central Region zone four Inter Schools and Colleges Sports on Saturday honoured Mrs. Esther Hamilton, former headmistress of Apam Secondary School and Chairman of the Zone for his significant contribution towards promotion of school sports.

In an appreciation of her contribution, the Committee presented her with a plaque while a shield was named after her to be competed for annually by the schools in the Zone.

In a citation at a programme at the Greenland, Swedru, Mr. Ampong-Fi Duku, headmaster of Enyan Denkyira Secondary school, the current Chairman of the Zone said Mrs. Hamilton was an inspirer, good role model, dynamic and a philanthropist.

Mr. Duku commended Mrs. Hamilton for her immense contribution to sports development, which has improved the standard of sports in the Zone. Mrs. Hamilton thanked the Committee for the honour done her and promised to assist the Zone in their future endeavours. During her term of office, Apam Secondary School was nine times Regional athletic champions, volleyball champions and thrice Milo soccer champions.
