Former Arsenal and Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court to face serious sexual offence charges, just weeks after his departure from the Premier League club.
The 32-year-old, who left Arsenal at the end of June following the expiration of his contract, has been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving three separate women, according to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
Partey arrived at court for his first appearance. He is accused of raping one woman twice and a second woman three times. The sexual assault charge involves a third alleged victim. The alleged incidents are said to have occurred over a span of several months, though exact dates have not yet been made public.
