Forget about Bugri Naabu’s tape — Freddy Blay

The First Vice Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has said it will be a total waste of time to give attention to a leaked tape recording on which the party’s northern regional chairman was heard doubting the loyalty of some key national executives.

On the said tape, a voice purported to be that of Daniel Bugri Naabu claimed the party’s national chairman Paul Afoko, General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong and others have already received V8 vehicles from President John Mahama’s brother, Ibrahim.

The voice also claimed the two opposition executives are being protected by National Security personnel.

A former General Secretary of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition, Nana Ohene Ntow has called for his suspension over the secret tape.

But Blay in an interview on Starr 103.5 FM’s weekly personality show – Starr Chat – with host Bola Ray, has rubbished the content of the leaked tape recording, saying it does not deserve any “currency”.

“We have met and talked about it,” Blay said about the tape. “Before then a statement had come from Bugri Naabu that it wasn’t his voice.”

“He denied it… From the sources that it is coming from, I won’t give it any credibility or currency. The currency is valueless. It is a gossip corner story and I’ll forget it.”

The NPP Northern regional chairman had denied the purported voice on the tape as his.
