Foreign Minister Tours Europe & US

A team of ECOWAS Foreign Ministers headed by Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nana Akufo Addo has left Accra on an eight-nation tour in Europe and the USA to mobilize support for a donor’s conference on the situation in Cote d’Ivoire scheduled for Brussels on May 12, 2003.

Official statement issued by the Information Ministry said the team will also discuss funding for the development of an ECOWAS force to replace French troops who are due to be phased out.

Other members of the delegation are the Foreign Ministers of Nigeria, Senegal, Guinea, La Cote d’Ivoire and the Executive Secretary of ECOWAS, Dr. Mohammed Ibn Chambas.
