Flood victims receive relief items

Nyinahin (Ash), April 16, GNA – The Atwima Mponua District Assembly and the District’s Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), have presented relief items worth GH¢600 to victims of a rainstorm and flood that hit parts of that district recently. The District assembly donated items worth GH¢500 made up of 200 bags of cement, 18 packets of roofing sheets and assorted used clothing while NADMO donated the bags of rice valued at GH¢100. The communities included Tanodumase, Kansakrom and Kuffuor Camp.

Mr. Wilberforce Owusu-Ansah, District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area said the building materials should be used to rehabilitate the school buildings and domestic houses that had their roofs ripped-off during the rainstorm. He urged the recipients to ensure that the school buildings were rehabilitated to enable the children to attend classes.

Mr. Joseph Osei, Assemblyman for Kansakrom who received the items on behalf of the other beneficiary communities, thanked the donors and pledged that the items would be distributed to the victims.
