Five stowaways freed by court.

Tema, Feb 04, GNA – The Tema circuit court ‘A’ that remanded five stowaways on a US bound vessel for one week has discharged them. Daniel Mensah, Nii Tetteh, Robert Mensah, Eric Tawia and Alex Kwau, all unemployed, pleaded guilty.

Chief Inspector Sarah Aggrey Acquah, prosecuting, told the court that on January 04, 2005 the five boarded MV Progreso Dos, bound for the US, from Abidjan.

She said while on high seas the captain spotted them, berthed at the Tema Port and handed them over to immigration officers.
