First Lady presents food supplements to HIV/AIDS patients

First Lady Lordina Mahama has presented food supplements to some HIV/AIDS patients in the country.

The forty (40) boxes of food supplements were received on behalf of the National Association of People Living with AIDS (NAP+) by its President, Kofi Amofa and the Acting Director of Technical Services at the Ghana AIDS Commission.

Making the presentation, Lordina Mahama, who is also the First Vice President of the Organisation of African First Ladies Against HIV & AIDS (OAFLA) for West Africa, re-affirmed her commitment towards the welfare of HIV/AIDS patients in the country.

She said, as the Premier UN AIDS Ambassador, she would continue to champion the course of AIDS patients through campaigns to create awareness of the diseases and to mobilise resources to support people living with the disease, particularly children who are abandoned by their families because they were born with HIV.

For his part, the President of NAP+, Kofi Amofa, expressed his deep appreciation for the continuous support from Mrs Lordina Mahama.

He thanked her for the leading role she is currently playing for HIV/AIDS patients across the country.
