Fire guts Tabiri Gyansah JHS at Mpasaso

The entire school building of Tabiri Gyansah Junior High School at Mpasaso Number One in the Ahafo Ano South District of the Ashanti Region has been gutted by fire.

The inferno started around 10:20 pm on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, from the head teachers’ office, spreading to the classrooms.

The entire three-unit classroom block, head teachers’ office and store of the school have all been burnt.

Test books and books belonging to teachers and pupils which were kept in the school’s store have all been lost to the fire.

The pupils could not attend school due to the total raze down of the school.

Eyewitnesses told Accra FM’s Elisha Adarkwah that the National Fire Service at Tepa and Mankranso were called to douse the fire, but never come.

The cause of the fire is not known yet, but Nana Obiri Yeboah was of the view that, somebody intentionally set the school ablaze since the school was not connected to electricity.
