Final IEA Presidential Debate: Who Impressed You The Most?

Flag bearers of the four political parties with representation in Parliament on Wednesday evening battled it out at the second and final part of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) organized presidential debates ahead of the 2012 elections, as they proffered solutions to the challenges facing the country.

This time, however, the debate which lasted some three hours and moderated by Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and Prof. Jane Opoku Agyemang, saw the candidates answering questions on areas such as good governance (peace and security, corruption, bureaucracy, the rule of law, as well as character and leadership), natural resource management (oil and gas, mining, forestry and environmental management) and women and gender issues.

After the first presidential debate held in Tamale, fanatics of the four candidates – President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC); Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP); Dr Michael Abu Sakara of the Convention People’s Party (CPP); and Mr Hassan Ayariga of the People’s National Convention (PNC) – claimed victory.

But Peacefmonline.com wants to find whether the Banquet Hall of the State on Wednesday presented another opportunity for them to settle the score or put their claims of victory beyond doubt.

So who impressed you the most at Wednesday’s IEA presidential debate? Drop a comment below.

1 Prez Mahama

2 Dr Abu Sakara

3 Hassan Ayariga

4 Nana Akufo-Addo
