A new Fiesta Condoms billboard in Kumasi in the Ashanti region is causing chaos on social media, StarrFMonline.com has gathered.
The billboard which was erected on August 19, has become the talk of town as it displays a hot half-naked lady in a black apparel in a strip tease pose.
Reports gathered by StarrFMonline.com say residents of the Garden City are angry with the image which they argue is an affront to Ghana’s cultural values.
A Facebook post by an angry resident read: “I think NANANOMS must call for an immediate removal of this vile billboard, and the advertisers severely rebuked for this moral depravity. If not, it would embolden the advertisers to next time take a step forward to mount a more bigger billboard of #MEN having #SEX with #MEN at KEJETIA or at the Kumasi Central market.”
Another wrote: “Yes, it’s a condom ad but it appears too hot. I am not moral but this ad seems indecent to me. It’s got drivers and the woodworkers around the area talking since it was mounted.”
Ghana’s advertising laws frowns on nudity but it is unclear if the billboard has violated any of such laws. The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly is, however, yet to comment on the development.
