Fetish priest finances water system at Kumawu

Kumasi, March 15, GNA – Nana Okomfo Abass, a popular fetish priest at Medoma in the Kwabre district, is funding a water system at Kumawu in the Sekyere East district to help end the perennial water problem faced by the people in the area.

It involves the construction of a dam and laying of pipes to convey water from the dam would be pumped into homes. Nana Abass, who is the Chief Priest of the Black and White Power Shrine, told the Ghana News Agency that he had already provided similar water facilities at Medoma and Agona-Akrofoso in the Afigya-Sekyere district.

He said he had entered into formal agreement with the Kumawu Traditional Council on the operation of the system on completion. The Chief Fetish Priest also spoke on plans to set up a scholarship scheme to support the education of brilliant but needy pupils and students.

That, he said, would be his modest contribution towards the promotion of education in the country.

“It is important that we all accept to do our bit to help make education easily accessible to every Ghanaian child without distinction”.
