Feeder Roads to rehabilitate roads in the Ahafo-Ano district

Tepa (Ash), June 24, GNA – The Department of Feeder Roads (DFR) is to rehabilitate a total of 54.45-kilometres roads in the Ahafo-Ano North district of Ashanti under the Maintenance Periodic Budget system (MPBS) this year.

They are the 21-kilometre Anyinasuso-Betiako-Abonsuaso, 15.25-kilometre Nyamebekyere-subriso-Mfante, 13.2-kilometre Manfo-Odumase and five-kilometre Bonkron-Betinko roads. Mr Enock Frimpong, the District foreman of the DFR, who disclosed this to newsmen at Tepa on Friday, explained that under the MPBS project, some of the roads would have bush clearing and grass cutting, ditch clearing, filling of potholes, sectional gravelling and new culverts.

He said apart from these roads, six other roads are to be reshaped in the district.

They include Krak osua Junction-Beposo, Hiamankwa Junction-Hiamankwa, Dotoam Junction-Dotoam, Amangoase-Jerusalem-Esikrom and Konkori Junction-Konkori. Mr Frimpong said contractors who were to work on the roads were expected to employ most of the labour force within the local community.
