FDA cautions public against patronising bloated, rusty canned foods

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), has warned the public to be on the lookout for bloated and slightly rusted canned foods on the market.

According to the Head of Safety Department of the FDA, Jocelyn Agyakwa Amusah, a bloated can is an indication of micro-organism activities in the can.

Madam Agyakwa Amusah advised that to prevent food poisoning, canned foods must not be directly put in the refrigerator.

Madam Agyakwa Amusah said consumers must not rush to buy canned foods that have their prices reduced significantly.
