Farmer remanded for stealing fowl

Mankranso (Ash), Aug 03, GNA – The Mankranso magistrate court has remanded a 27-year-old farmer into prison custody for stealing a fowl valued at 35,000 cedis at Adukrom in the Ahafo-Ano South district. Kwame Daniel pleaded guilty and will re-appear on August 15 for sentence.

Police Chief Inspector Edwin Dei-Offei, prosecuting told the court, presided over by Mr Frank Owusu-Afriyie that on July 28, Mr Peter Boakye-Ansah, the complainant, detected that his fowl had been stolen and started searching for it.

He said in the process, he saw Daniel cooking chicken in front of his (complainant) new building and confronted him. The prosecutor said the accused admitted stealing the fowl and pleaded for forgiveness.

A report was therefore made to the police and Daniel was arrested.
