Farmer rapes woman on St Valentine’s Day

Dormaa (B/A) Feb. 16 (Hans) GNA – A circuit court at Dormaa Ahenkro has remanded Atta Kosi, a 32 year old farmer at Odoyewu, a farming community in the Dormaa district of Brong Ahafo for a week for raping a 70 year old woman on Saint Valentine’s Day. The presiding judge, Mr. Justice Vincent Carl Senu, said the week long remand would allow the police to conclude investigations into the case.

Chief Inspector Matthew Yeboah said at about 0100 hours on St Valentine’s Day this year, the suspect forcibly had sex with the woman, claiming it was his reward for an assistance he gave the woman some time ago.

He is expected to reappear before the court on February.
