Farmer rapes drunken woman

Asamankese, Nov. 1, GNA – Awudu Moshie, a 22-year-old farmer, who allegedly raped a 45-year-old drunk woman, had been reminded in prison custody by Asamankese Magistrate Court.

Awudu, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, is to re-appear in court on November 17.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Mariama Duneya told the court that, on December 1, last year, Georgina Okoto, of Topease, near Asamankese went to bed drunk, leaving her door ajar.

At about 2000 hours on that day, Awudu secretly entered her room and forcibly had sex with her.

The victim’s screaming attracted her daughter into the room and when Awudu saw her, he bolted away.

He was, however, arrested later and handed over to the police. After investigations, he was charged with rape before the court.
