Farmer jailed five years for stealing from church

Juaso (Ash), Jan 13, GNA – For burgling a church, a farmer has been sentenced by the Juaso Circuit Court to serve a five-year jail term in hard labour.

Yaw Owusu pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful entry and stealing items valued at GH¢1,020.00, belonging to the Resurrection Power and Living Bread Ministries International.

Standing trial with him was Kwasi Denteh, a driver who had also been held for dishonestly receiving the stolen items.

Denteh was made to sign a 12-month bond to be of good behavior or go to prison for six months in default.

Detective Police Inspector Emmanuel Kobla Atatsi told the court presided over by Justice S. K. Sarpong Appiah that the complainant was the Head Pastor of the church’
