Farmer faces five counts of threat of death

Kade, Dec. 23. GNA – The Kade District Magistrate Court has committe= d a farmer, Kwame Amanor, for trial before the Asamankese Circuit Court for threatening to kill five persons with a gun. The plea of Amanor was not taken.

Chief Inspector Eric Tetteh Zorh told the court that on July 4, John=

Tetteh, Emmanuel Narh, Stephen Tetteh, Kwame Nartey and Ebenezer Lasietey=

went to weed a farm. He said whilst working, Amanor confronted them over a sharpening sto= ne but the five did not mind him.

Amanor, who was carrying a loaded single barrel gun, threatened to k= ill them if they did not tell him who went for his sharpening stone from his farm. The prosecutor said the complainants over powered and collected the gun from him. The five took the loaded gun and the two extra cartridges collected from Amanor to the Atobriso assemblyman who led them to make a complaint to the police. Amanor, however, went into hiding until November when he was spotted= at a nearby village, arrested and handed over to the Asuom police.
