Family chief shot dead at Mim-Achiase

Mim-Achiase (Ash), Dec 13, GNA – Pandemonium broke out at Atwima-Mim near Abuakwa in the Atwima-Nwabiagya district when Nana Badu Boakye Dankwa II, a family chief of Mim-Achiase was shot dead at close range on Tuesday at about 2030 hours . According to a family source, the late Nana Dankwa, an assembly member of the Atwima-Nwabiagya District Assembly, who has for sometime now been at loggerheads with a section of the family in a chieftaincy dispute, on his return from Tema on Tuesday was in the bathroom when his assailant shot him under the cover of darkness.

The source said members of the faction suspected to have perpetrated the crime were seen in town on Tuesday, but had since disappeared.

When the Abuakwa police visited the scene bloodstains and human flesh were found scattered in the bathroom. Meanwhile, the police have intensified their investigation into the incident.

The body has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) morgue in Kumasi pending autopsy.
