Cape Coast, Nov.03, GNA – The Central Regional Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Mission, Maulvi Abdul Hameed Tahir on Thursday said extremism and terrorism had no place in Islam.
“Islam promotes love, peace and forgiveness for the world anyone practicing anything apart from these, its not Islam but their own religion” he declared, when he led Ahmadis in prayers to mark the end of the Holy month of Ramadan at Abura a suburb of Cape Coast. Maulvi Tahir therefore, abhorred the practice by some people who use the name of Islam to commit atrocities and stressed that their mission was to ensure “love for all and hate for non.”
He appealed to Muslims to continue to live in love, peace, forgiveness, sympathy, sacrifice and unity, which they observed during the holy month of Ramadan to ensure that what their religion preached prevailed.
Maulvi Tahir urged Ghanaians especially workers to work harder towards ” a better nation” and avoid acts that would disturb the peace in the country. Prayers were said for peace and stability of the nation. At the Holy Child School Park where orthodox Muslims converged, the Central Regional Chief Imam Alhaji Abubakar Hassan commended them for their comportment during the holy month of Ramadan and prayed for peace and reconciliation for the nation, the President, Ministers of State, Members of Parliament and District Chief Executives. In an address read for him, the Central Regional Minister, Mr Isaac Edumadze appealed to Muslims to take advantage of the FCUBE programme and send their children to school to secure them a better future.
He urged them to assist in the fight against the HIV/AIDS menace by propagating the message in the mosques. Mr Edumadze congratulated Muslims and urged them to continue to live in peace and harmony with everyone in society.
