Excel Foundation donates to AIDS patients

Tema, Dec. 12, GNA – The management of Excel Foundation, a Tema-based Non-Governmental Organisation, has donated items worth four million cedis and 500,000 cedis cash to the HIV/AIDS Support Association (TASA) and Fever’s Unit of the Tema General Hospital. The items included fruits, provisions, detergents, clothing and shoes.

Mrs Cecilia Huges Osafo, Chief Executive Office of the Foundation said the donation formed part of their annual programme dubbed ‘Gift Day’, to support People Living with AIDS. She said the Foundation had for the past one year been working in collaboration with the Ghana AIDS Commission to support the youth within the Municipality to acquire skills that could help them earn a living and prevent them from engaging in prostitution to contract the disease. Mrs Osafo stressed the importance of voluntary counselling and testing in the fight against the pandemic and urged Ghanaians to embrace it as the best way to win the fight against spreading the disease.
