Ex-workers of Scanstyle Mim appeal to govt

Accra, July 28, GNA – Aggrieved ex-workers of Scanstyle Mim Limited, a furniture manufacturing company based in Mim, Brong Ahafo Region, on Wednesday appealed to government to investigate why they were dismissed and their End of Service Benefit not paid to them.

“For the past 22 months, we have not been paid by the management neither have we been served with any dismissal letter”, Mr. Victor Owusu, Spokesman for the workers, said at a press conference in Accra on Wednesday.

The workers who were very emotional threatened to use every means to stop the management from its operations unless their arrears and other entitlements were paid.

“We are giving the management two weeks to recall us or pay all our entitlements or we’ll advice ourselves”, he added.

The workers expressed concern about their wards in the school established by management being prevented from writing examinations because the school authorities had been informed that their parents were no longer employees of the company.
