Ex-Police Officer wins Bibiani-Anhwaiso-Bekwai District best farmer.

A former police officer, Mr Oppong Nkrumah, 54, has emerged as the best farmer for the Bibiani-Anhwaiso-Bekwai District.

He took home a motorized tri-cycle donated by Chirano Gold Mines Limited, cutlasses, bars of soaps and a certificate.

Mr Jospeh Adansi-Bornah, the District Chief Executive for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai , said the farmers day celebration which was instituted 28 years ago, was aimed at encouraging farmers to give off their best.

He said farmers had continued to play significant roles in the promotion of food security and stabilization of the country since time immemorial and all must work hard to complement the efforts of Ghanaian farmers.

Mr Bornah reminded the youth to venture into farming and make their contributions towards the rapid economic development of the country.

He commended the Chirano Gold Mines Limited and Noble Gold Mines for their continual support to various communities and the district assemblies and its allied agencies.
