EU to support 700 million cedis water project in Central Region

Nyamedom (C/R), April 28, GNA- The European Union, has committed 700 million cedis towards a water project for Asuansi and Nyamedom communities in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District of the Central Region.

The beneficiary communities have raised seven million out of the 100 million cedis they are expected to contribute for the commencement of the project in May.

The District Coordinating Director, Mr Fred Addae announced this at the end of a training workshop for 400 cassava farmers, who are expected to provide the raw material for a proposed industrial starch factory to be sited at Nyamedom.

He said 1,000 cassava farmers were expected to undergo training for the project. He said investors forum, would be organized in June, to mobilise funds for the project.
