Estate Development Plan for Tema and Takoradi

Accra, Oct.7, GNA – Professor Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, Minister of Ports, Harbours and Railways, on Tuesday said an Estate Development Plan has been prepared for Tema and the Takoradi Ports.

The Plan has proposed sites for the provision of warehousing facilities; export promotion zones, packaging facilities, haulage zones, car parks, hostel and social facilities.

Briefing Journalists at the weekly meet-the-press series in Accra, Prof Ameyaw-Akumfi said it was a vital link in developing the Port areas and urged the private sector to take advantage of the Plan as their contribution to creating infrastructure for the industry.

“The private sector will be responsible for the investment in the development and management of the facilities.
