Esiama can become financial hub – Adja-Sipa Yankey

The Development Chief of Esiama in the Ellembelle District in the Western Region, Dr George Adja-Sipa Yankey, has stated that through unity of purpose, the town can become the financial hub of the Nzema area.

Speaking at a durbar to climax this year’s Kundum Festival of the chiefs and people of Esiama, Dr Yankey said the development of the town required a concerted and non-partisan approach to fast-track the transformation agenda.

He said the process, led by the Esiama Development Committee (EDC), focused on enhancing the welfare of the people and the development of the area.

Dr Yankey said since his installation as a development chief of the town and also being the chairman of the committee, he and the team had set about focussing on the rapid development of the community.

He used the occasion to inaugurate a multi-purpose information centre which also houses a post office and other facilities that would support businesses in the town.

Dr Yankey said the committee had also set up a fund to support traders who had limited access to working capital to improve their lives.

He called on members of the community to maintain unity and shun any act that would divide them socially or politically.
