Envoy to UK Presents Credentials

H.E. Mr. Isaac Osei, Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK, last Friday, presented his Letters of Commission to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, at an impressive ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

According to a release issued by the Ghana High Commission in London, H.E. Isaac Osei, resplendent in kente, was escorted to the Buckingham Palace by Sir Anthony Figgis, Marshall of the Diplomatic Corps, in a convoy of three horse-drawn carriages.

Accompanying him were Mrs. Marian Osei, his wife, Mr. Kwabena Baah-Duodu, Deputy High Commissioner and seven other senior officers of the Mission.

During discussions with the Queen, the High Commissioner had fruitful and beneficial exchanges on bilateral, Commonwealth and world issues.

Proposing a toast later at a reception, Sir Anthony Figgis wished the High Commissioner a pleasant stay in the UK and hoped that the relationship between the two countries would blossom to the mutual advantage of the UK and Ghana.

In his response, H. E. Isaac Osei noted that the presence of dignitaries, officials of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Ghanaians at the reception confirms the deep bonds of friendship that existed between the government and people of the two countries.

The High Commission pledged to strengthen existing links between the two countries and also cautioned his staff to obey the laws of their host country in spite of the privileges and immunities they enjoy under the Vienna Convention.
