Enroll in the national apprenticeship program and seize the opportunity to fulfill your future ambitions. – YEA Director

Mr. Kumi Asare, the Dormaa Central Municipal Director of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), has exhorted the young populace of Dormaa Ahenkro and its environs to enroll in the current ongoing National apprenticeship program promised by the NDC during the 2024 election campaign season.

He said this initiative offers an invaluable opportunity for them to acquire expertise in skill training, thereby empowering them to fulfill their life ambitions.

In an exclusive dialogue with GIFTs News, it was revealed that numerous young individuals cannot rely solely on formal education to succeed in life. Thus, the significance of the introduction of the National Apprenticeship Program, as it will enrich the skillset of the youth, offer them the chance to establish their own ventures and employ others to alleviate the unemployment crisis in the nation. He urged the youth to swiftly proceed to the YEA office with their Ghana card to enroll and partake in the current job creation initiative for a better future.

Mr. Kumi Asare voiced his apprehension regarding the growing number of Masters (Skill Trainers) who have yet to register their businesses, highlighting the potential risk of being disqualified from receiving apprentices under the National Apprenticeship Program.

He therefore urged all businesses and entrepreneurs who have not yet formalized their enterprises to do so without delay, securing their business certificates to participate in the program and ensure they are allocated apprentices to train, thereby reaping the benefits of the initiative. He assured that it is never too late, as the program operates in batches; early registration will guarantee them the opportunity to be considered.

Once more, he implored the young individuals to refrain from engaging in partisan politics with the policy and ensure they participate in the program, emphasizing that it lacks any political motivation.

He counseled the youth to resist the sway of peer pressure and remain resolute in pursuing their life’s aspirations, further urging them to avoid drug abuse and addiction to ensure a longer, healthier life.
