Enemies of the nation must not be given the chance – Mike Hammah

The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Mr Mike Allan Hammah, has repeated his call on Ghanaians not to allow the enemies of the nation to disturb the peace in the Country.

He said peace is valuable in the development of the society and appealed to everybody to help sustain it.

Mr Hammah, who is also the Member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency, made the call when addressing a National Non-denomination Prayers and Thanksgiving service at Winneba.

The event was under the theme “Peace, Security and Stability within your boundaries, Oh Ghana”.

Mr Hammah said the December election is just around the corner and appealed to the youth to disregard politicians who will incite them to foment troubles.

He urged them to desist from being used as tools to gain their selfish ambition, as future leaders, they should not sit down unconcern to be used to destroy their future.

He advised parents to counsel their children under 18 year not to attempt to register when the biometric registration exercise commences on the 24Th March, and avoid been arrested and prosecuted.

Very Rev Elder Bonney of the Winneba Methodist Church in a sermon called for unity among Ghanaians and also help maintain the peaceful atmosphere in the country.

Very Rev Bonney, who is also Presiding Member of Effutu Municipal Assembly, urged Ghanaians to bury their difference and to tolerate each other’s views toward the development of the nation.

He condemned insults on the air waves saying freedom of speech does not permit one to insult.

Nii Ephraim, Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, who chaired the programme asked the people to refrain from indulging in negative activities.**
