End of This Year’s Ramadan Fasting

Accra, Sept.29, GNA- Reliable information reaching the National Hilal Committee, Ghana obtained that the crescent (New Moon) of Shawal which marks the end of the Ramadan fasting, has been sighted.

In a news release signed by Sheik M.M. Gedel, Chairman of the National Hilal Committee on Monday, September 29 said, the new moon was sighted on Sunday night in Aboabo, Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. According to the release, the National Hilal Committee on the authority of the National Chief Imam and the Ameer and Missionary-in-Charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission wishes to announce that this year’s Eidul-Fitr would be celebrated in Ghana on Tuesday, September 30.

The Committee therefore congratulates all Muslims for a successful completion of this year’s Ramadan and called on them to continue praying for peace, unity, progress and development in the country.
