Emasa Rural Bank disburses funds to traders

Awutu-Beraku (C/R), May 5, GNA – The Chairman of Awutu Emasa Rural Bank, Mr Abraham K. Larbie, has reminded beneficiaries of various credit schemes put in place by the government that, the assistance was to help them undertake economic ventures that would reduce their financial difficulties.

This is because without that, it would be difficult for them to make any meaningful impact on their lives and to contribute positively to the national reconstruction programmes.

Mr Larbie was speaking at a meeting at which the bank disbursed more than 40 million cedis to a group of women, including food producers, petty traders and fishmongers at Awutu-Beraku under the government’s initiative to equip needy but business-oriented women in rural communities with financial support to enable them contribute to the socio-economic welfare of their families.

He said the idea was a laudable one that must be commended. Mr John Kofi Anomah, Supervising Manager of the bank, advised beneficiaries of financial packages instituted by the bank to cushion the economies of its customers to ensure judicious utilization of the loans.

Mr Anomah said any move by beneficiaries to divert the actual course for which the assistance were given would defeat the objectives of the bank and the government.

He explained that the essence of establishing the bank was to help improve the lives of the people in its catchment’s area through effective mobilization of economic resources in the area to help turn around the social well-being of the people.

Mr Anomah further advised beneficiaries of loans to make prompt payment of loans their hallmark to strengthen the work of the bank all the time.
