President Mahama says several sectors of the Ghanaian Economy performed well in spite of the eight months long dispute in court over the election petition case.
He says although the negative economic effect of the protracted trial on the country cannot be underestimated, most of the economic indicators performed considerably well.
The President made the remarks on Thursday when he met the Business Council for International Understanding on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly currently ongoing in the US.
President Mahama said “the growth rates admittedly slowed down in the first half of the year and our estimated out turn is around 6.7 percent against our end of year target of 8 percent”.
He added that “however sectors in the economy showed strong growth in the year and we expect them to rebound in the last quarter of this year.
“With Normalcy restored, our government and the people of Ghana are now pursuing aggressive measure to move the economy forward”.
